Grooming sign inside PetSmart. I love the substitution of the scissors and comb.
Totem projected type, inside the Totem Cirque du Soleil tent. The entire production amazed me from start to finish, but for some reason, I kept gazing at this thing on the ceiling every five minutes or so. Those seated around me probably suspected I was bored with the production.
Straight from the UK, this package of Jammie Dodgers lasted approximately two days in my house. I took a picture of the jelly-formed type to preserve the memory.
This bumper sticker, set in Courier Bold caught my attention for its simplicity, and the fact that it was set in Courier Bold. But the quote stuck with me because I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan.
My local TCBY exterior (top) and yogurt cup (bottom). What bothered me most was the difference between the typography. The exterior signage (top) looks somewhat sophisticated, except for the squishy purple squirt on top of the "y," whereas the cup looks plain old silly, and speaks more to the sugary goodness of the desserts. And allow me to add to the confusion: they have a third identity floating around now, as seen at the TCBY website, tcby.com.
This is just wrong on so many levels. Insert your own caption in the comments below.
Honestly, it's been so long since I took this that I can't recall where I captured it. But, like most needlepoint, it reminds me of bitmap typography.
These graffiti artists didn't get the memo about using only two typefaces together. But that didn't stop them from making something more expressive than legible.
